Last Saturday we had a new London Urban Sketchers meeting in Richmond, a beautiful neighbourhood in West London, former home of artists and writers, such as Virginia Woolf (and current home of Sir David Attemborough!).
El sábado pasado tuvimos una nueva quedada de los Urban Sketchers de Londres en Richmond, un vecindario precioso en el oeste, que fue hogar de artistas y escritores como Virginia Woolf (hoy en día, uno de sus ilustres residentes es nada menos que Sir David Attemborough).
However, weather was horrible. I managed to stay there for a couple of hours sketching the Duck Pond market and the White Cross pub until the wind and some rain scared me away. I got to see the drawings of the rest of the group in the first break and, although the black and white crew is always fantastic, some of the sketchers did an amazing job with the watercolors.
Sin embargo, el tiempo no podía estar peor. Me las apañé para quedarme un par de horas dibujando el mercado Duck Pond y el pub White Cross hasta que el viento y la lluvia me espantaron. Llegué a ver el trabajo de los demás en el primer descanso y, aunque los de siempre escogimos el blanco y negro, algunos de los sketchers hicieron unos dibujos a acuarela bastante impresionantes.
I brought some company to the meeting this time and, when I accepted it was too cold and uncomfortable to sketch outside, we went for a cup of tea and he let me draw him while he was reading. All in all, not a bad sketching day at all.
Esta vez traje compañía y, cuando acepté a regañadientes que no era el mejor momento para dibujar al aire libre, fuimos a por un té y me dejó dibujarle mientras él leía. Después de todo, no fue un mal día para dibujar.
